Catching up

Tuesday I took the day off. Then ran on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Wednesday - Did the same route at 11:xx a.m. without a watch. Kept the effort easy. Around 36 mins.

Thursday - Did the same route at 9:20 a.m., after the 8 mins, increased pace for 400-500m, then ran easy and in the last 1k or so increased the pace again. Nice change of pace. Watchless

Friday - Did the same route at 9:30 a.m. kept the effort easy on this one, never pushed it and felt pretty good.

I am still caughing a lot, luckily it does not bother while running.

Today I rest.

Feeling pretty good with my running, not running  lots of mileage but I am being consistent.

Have a great day!

Zapping the zero

Today I ran at 9:45 a.m.. Did my bread and butter route. Today it was cold, and I wore my hat and gloves, nothing compared to yesterday. Ran around 36 mins. Kept the effort easy. Great start to the week.  I am caughing a lot , but luckily is from the throat up and it only affects me when I am not running.

Have a great start to the week!

Finishing the week

Today I ran at 6:00 p.m. and its getting dark later because I finished the run and it was light. The weather was in 18 celcius another hot day, so I did not wear the gloves, I felt a bit weird, because all my runs in the last few weeks has been with runs. I even took off my hat after the 8 min mark or so. The weather was pretty nice. At the end my ears started to bother me, so its important to know your body, that is why I never run without my hat eventhough I ran without gloves sometimes. Probably, the disconfort would have been great if the run would have been longer.

Around 36 mins. A lot of peoeple in the Debod temple, but it felt good to run after the whole day finishing a Project.

5 runs this week! I thought that it would not be posible, but I did it.

The consistency is good, but I am eating a lot!

Have a great Sunday!

Hot easy run

Today I ran at 5:30 p.m. or so, I had to take off the gloves way before the halfway point, because I felt so hot and I even took off my hat just before finishing. Today in my opinión it was hot, but according to the weather app it was around 7-8 celcius, but it felt like 15 or more.  Anyway,  I kept the effort easy and ran watchless. I wont be able to get my watch repaired this weekend, since I have to finish a Project that I have to send tomorrow, so I ll have to keep running watchless for a Little while . Felt good!

Have a great Saturday!

Fast finish

Yesterday I ran at 9:40 a.m., since I had to go to the intership, I decided to run easy, but the last 3-4 mins to push it a lot, and that is how it played out. Did my bread and butter route and in the last 600s or so pushed it the pace, then cooled down the last 2 mins. I did the route in around 35 mins, dont know because I ran watchless. Felt good, but still battling with the flu. Luckily, I can run no problema, since it did not affect my body.

Weather was cool, but my gloves and hat took care of that.

I ll run later today. So stay tuned!

Bouncing back

I rested on Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday was planned, but yesterday I wanted to run early, but I woke up with a sore throat, and my policy is that I dont run sick, and in this cold less, so I took it as rest.

Today I was back at the running, did not have to go to the internship. I ran at 10:20 a.m.,  the first 10 mins were rough, I did not feel good, but then in the second half started to feel much better and I finish the run feeling great. I have some kind of flu, I hope it does not get worse so that I can keep my running going. The route was the same as always without a watch, I ll see if I can get my watch repaired by this weekend. Around 35-36 mins.

Glad to get back to run, that makes me feel alive. The next 3 weeks will be hard because I have to finish up some Project and present them in college, so the past couple of days I have gone to bed past 1 a.m.

I hope that my running does not suffer much, but life is life!

Have a great Thursday!

Zapping the zero

Today I ran at 9:50 a.m., and did my bread and butter route. It was cold today, 0 Celsius, but I felt good and once I warmed up did not feel so cold. Shorts, T shirt, gloves and hat, thats all you need.
Around 35 mins.

Tomorrow I start working in an internship, the Schedule will be 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. so the running will comelike in the old times, before 7 a.m., it will be difficult because at that time its very dark and cold, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

Have a great day!

Finishing up the week

On Friday I took the day off.

On Saturday I almost skip the run because  I was doing a Project with a group since 11 a.m.and got here at 7 somethin p.m. I  ate like  a pig at lunch, so it was not fair to miss the run, so after I got here I got dressed and went out to run, it was very cold outside and I felt full and my stomach did not behave well.  I did my normal route, but skipped the last 2 mins because my stomach was giving me problems, wanted to avoid a disaster.

Today I ran at 12:30 p.m. and it was much sunnier and better than yesterday, it was 7 degrees, but I felt hotter. I did my bread and butter route and even sped up for around 400-500m at one point, but for the most part I kept the run easy, I need to incorpórate more pick ups, I am in bad shape anaerobically.

Felt strong and good, finished in around 35 mins. In the last 800m a guy passed me and I picked up a bit, but He built a gap and I was trying not to expand that gap, He basically helped me to complete the run.

I am glad that I did not skip the run yesterday eventhough I felt like s·%t.
5 runs this week and I accomplished my goal, I am drinking diet soda since January 2nd, 2017 but I am eating a lot, so I think am not losing a lot of weight, if anything!

Have a great Sunday!

Another good run

Today I ran at 10:30 a.m. , I did not have clases in the evening, but I wanted to get the running done early. I did the same route, and when I had around 21 mins or so, I did a quick 400-500m at a good clip, I could have gone longer, but the intersection stopped me because the light was red for us runners/walkers. I did around 35 mins total time feeling pretty good, ran watchless.  I am feeling leaner, maybe I have lost a pound.

Felt good and the weather was not that cold, but the headwind was unconfortable at times. Tomorrow I ll rest, and I ll run the whole weekend.

Have a great Thursday!

Good humpday run

Today I ran at 10:30 a.m. , went out without the wactch to do the bread and butter route. It was very cloudy today, almost raining, but luckily it did not. I wore my hat, gloves and was just fine. Felt pretty good, I am starting to come around. In the past week I had been feeling heavy and sluggish.
Around 35-36 mins total.

Glad to have gotten another run in.

Have a great humpday!

Zapping the zero

Yesterday was a day off after 5 days running in a row.

Today I ran at 10:50 a.m., and did my bread and butter route without a watch, I have not fix my watch just yet. I went out at a good clip and kept the effort easy. The weather was at 0 degrees celcius today, but my hat and gloves did the job. I ran in shorts and short sleeves T shirt most of the time. My room mates always say to me that I ll get sick, that I am crazy to run in such conditions. I dont care, I go out anyway. As long as I dont let my sweaty gear get dry on me, I ll be fine. Its matter of trial and error, I know my body enough now that I know when to wear gloves or not, I always have to wear a hat because my ears hurt later if I dont wear one, and even when the weather is over 15 degrees I wear it.

A lot of people cant phanthom the idea of running when its cold, but they never try it, they stay inside making excuses, 0 celcius is not that cold either. A lot of things in life are by trial and error, you have to take action and learn.

Around 35-36 mins easy. Felt very good.

This month is going to be crazy in the master, but will try to keep my running consistently. I will have to run before sunrise if necessary.

Have a great Thursday!

Easy run to finish up the week

Since my watch is not working, I am running watchless, so I headed out to do the same route, it was not raining, but at one point it started pouring just a bit, luckily that did not last much and I can run pretty well, I even increased the pace a bit when I felt good. Around 35 mins for the route. This run was done at 5:45 p.m. and it was 2 celcius so the hat and gloves did the trick. I will have to get my watch fixed, because I like timing my runs and I want to time some intervals.

5 runs this week, after the race in Valencia and my soreness, my week started a bit late on Wednesday, but I was able to accomplish my goal and finish the week pretty well. Very awful week with the rain and stuff, but when you have to train , you gotta train. Its not only eat like a pig, you have to exercise too.

I weigh myself yesterday prior to breakfast and after waking up, the scale read 90.00 kgs which is 198 pounds. A lot of work needs to be done.

Tomorrow I am back to classes, so my running time will switch to the morning- lunch , like before.

Have a great Sunday!

Watchless runs

Friday and Thursday  were both easy watchless runs at 6:00 p.m. both days with the pouring rain, but yesterday it was colder, around 2 Celsius. I just run because  I wanted but it was very unconfortable to run in those rainy conditions.

However,  those conditions are great character builders. Both runs were at a good clip and I felt good by the end, but on both occassions I was afraid to get sick. Did around 35-36 mins.

Today the day is much better and I hope it does not rain today at 6:00 p.m., I ll run anyway. I sustitute normal soda with diet soda, lets see if I can cut some weight.

See you in a few hours!

Catching up

As I told last week I was going to compete with my brother in  Valencia in a race called San Silvestre de Valencia which is held at 8 p.m. too late for my taste, because you have to be all day anxious about that and controlling your nutrition.

Howerver, that was not the case this time around, We ate like pigs and drank a lot of soda, anyway, 3-4 hours before the race I ditched any food or drink, except wáter. We had not decided if We were going to race or We were to run the race as an easy day. In the back of my mind, I wanted to race, but the thing was that apparently ,  We were not be able to run properly due to the big crowd, but We arrived early to the race and positioned in the starting line, We were in the front row just behind the elites, so no excuse of not giving our best. At least I was Racing the race, my brother also raced. We warmed up 2.6k to get to the race, I felt good , I warmed up with my brother, Adelino, Willy who is a friend of Danilo and myself. The weather was in 18 Celsius, when I ran the 5k in Madrid it was in 5 celcius, so that might affect performance.

I did not wear a watch and when the gun went off  I just went out hard, Adelino was going to run at our pace, He is an accomplished runner that can run 18 mins or less in a 5k right now. Willy took off  ahead and never saw him during the race, He finished the 5.3k race in 30-31 mins, according to Adelino We passed him just before the 2k mark. He went out very fast.

I crossed the 1st k ahead of Adelino and my brother, but I could hear the voice of Adelino very close, I was feeling good at that point but not great, just before the 1k mark I had my right show untie, first time that that happen to me during a race, that got me out of concentration, but I never stopped to tie it, I finish the race with my right shoe untied.

After the 1k, Dan and Adelino caught me , but then I took off again for 1k or so, then they passed me again, and I was feeling really tired just before the halfway point, they built a gap of around 20-30m on me, but I could maintain pace, then again I caught them, and started to build a gap on my brother and never saw him again till the finish, Adelino then went with me for the second half of the race, which  was very difficult for me, it was a dead march and never in my life I had finished a race so tired, I could not even sprint, I was just holding for dear life.

The crowd was very supporting the whole race, but I just wanted to finish, Adelino really pushed me and was supporting me, but the legs did not cooperate, I was waiting for my brother to pass me, my last km was very slow, on survival mode.

Adelino took the time and I finished in 26:30 for 5.3k, which is 5 min per km or 8 min per mile, I was frustrated because compared to my last race that is very slow, I also finished much more tired in this race than in the last race. I dont find an explanation, but I am fatter and my trainin in the last month was not ideal, I also quit the gym, the gym apparently was helping a lot, I do better resume that.

My brother finished in 27:15, so I finished 45 seconds ahead of him, He ran very poorly timewise also, He want a revange but I told him that I am retired haha.

Then hang out for a bit, then We did again the 2.6k cool down to home, so it was 10+k for the day.

On Sunday I convinced my brother to do an easy run in The Turia Park, We ran at 11 a.m. 6k in 39:26,  the pace was very easy. This is the first time I do  measured run in more than 2 months.

This run finsihed up my week with 5 runs which was the plan.

Rested on Monday and Tuesday. I was so sore that even when I walked I was limping, again, I had not finished a race that tired.

On Wednesday evening at 6:10 p.m. I went out to do my usual route and finished in 37:06, just running pretty easy to clean up the lactic acid.

On Thursday evening, did the same route at 6 p.m., but this time I was much more recovered so sped up a bit more, crossed the halfway in 17:02, which is my normal pace, then after the 21 min mark, my watch`s batteries just died, so watchless runs wait ahead, but I think I did 35 high for the route.

I will run in about an hour, I have decided to lose a few pounds because I surely am fat, I am at 195 pounds and my face is like a baloon, I have decided to quit regular soda and drink diet soda instead, not the healthiest, but at least it does not contain any calories, also I will eat a bit less, I was just eating like a pig without control and I can pound the weight too easy and fast due to my consumption, I think eliminating the sugary calories is a good place to start. I wish I could just weigh 170-180 pounds again. We will see how it goes!
