Faster evening short run

Today I got a bit later than planned from work, so I headed out around 7:15 p.m. to the conservatory, I was going to do only 30 mins, but since it was going to be that short I wanted to do it faster so when I got to the conservatory in 7:26, I decided to do 4 laps faster than my normal pace, splits were: 5:30,5:25,5:14,5:04. In the second half I guy bited the dust when He fell down off a skateboard and rolled a couple of times in the pavement, I helped him to stand up again, lost a couple of seconds, but no biggie! I felt a bit tired, but at the same time felt confortable, because I was going fast but no lactic accumulation so I was happy in that regard. The weather was good and I did around 5.5k in 30 mins.

Good evening run

I headed out today at 6:55 pm. to the conservatory in 7:46 very easy, then did 6 laps in 6:15,6:07,5:56,5:53,5:57,5:44 or at least that is what I remember, anyway it was thereabout. Completed the 45 mins. The weather was good and I felt better as the run went by, I just had planned to do around 33 mins, but given the good I felt after the first 2 laps I decided to complete my regular run.

Zapping the zero

Have not run since Thursday so Friday, Saturday and Sunday were off. No reason in particular just rest on Friday and that rest day dragged the other too, what a discipline!

Today I was back at it at 6:33 p.m. that was when I headed out to the conservatory, I left work today earlier than usual, did 6 laps in the conservatory in 6:09,6:05,6:04,5:42,5:51 and 5:32, completed the 45 mins. Felt good and somewhat rested. The weather was very good today, I barely sweat today!

Then talked with a couple of guys, including one spanish guy that they do bodyweight exercise and offered me to join them, I might do it since I am not doing any upper body work.

I really enjoy going to the conservatory at that time, very good atmosphere there and good place to know new people.

Consistency is on

As I said in my previous post that I posted around 5 hours ago, I went to the conservatory at 6:20 p.m. and did 6 laps there very confortable and at a very good clip, it seems that when I work I get home very tired, today as I was free from work, I just felt great and fresh out there, got to the conservatory in 7:31, then did 6 laps in 5:59,5:51,5:49,5:46,5:44,5:46. Completed the 45 mins, felt good out there, the only problem is when I finish I have my groin bother me a lot, dont know its due to the overweight or the sweaty clothes, but I pretty much limp on my way home trying not to get to annoyed by it. The weather is behaving well! its going to live on the caribbean, I have heard that people that live in the US are having a hard time to train outside to the extreme cold out there! You kind of feel impotent when you want to train but encounter those conditions! thats awful!!

Very easy run with fast finish

This run was done yesterday at 6:45 p.m. I headed out after work and was not feeling very good, feeling heavy these days, got to the conservatory in 7:44, then did 6 laps, first lap was 6:22 very easy, then I saw that that was not going to my day so I reamined at that pace for 4 more laps , 6:27,6:27,6:21,6:17, then really increased effort in the last lap and did 4:32, then finished the 45 mins. That last lap felt really fast and the breathing was at 100 miles per hour, people that were walking heared my  breathing very hard and only turned back, ha! anyway I am glad that I did a lap that fast, dont remember the last time I ran a lap like that in training.

I am off from work today and I ll run in a bout 1 hour, so stay tuned for my post.

Heavy evening running

Today I headed out to the conservatory at 6:45 p.m. earlier than most of the time I run after work, got to the conservatory in 7:37 at a good clip, then did 6 laps in 6:07,6:03,6:09,5:48,5:52,5:33. In the last lap I increased a bit the pace and the effort. Felt heavy in the legs today but felt good overall. Finished there the 45 mins.

In the last 17 days or so I have only drank coke once and I am feeling pretty good, not feeling bloated and feeling thiner during runs.

Zapping the zero

On Saturday could not run. On Sunday the hang over got the best of me and I could only wake up  after 1 p.m. decided to skip the run, I drank too much on Saturday.

Today evening I was again on the roads, headed out to the conservatory at 7:15 p.m. and did what I think was 45 mins, I ran watchless today but I did the same laps and route that I am doing lately. 6 laps to the conservatory and a bit more to complete the 45 mins. The time was imaginary today since I did not have a watch with me today. I felt good and somewhat rested, but the inconsistency that I carried last week was terrible, I hope to make up some this week.

Getting back to it

No running on Wednesday and Thursday. Wednesday was the birthday of my friend Juan and I had to attend his birthday at night. Thusday when I was going to run at night I felt  a strong headache to the lack of food throughout the day, that usually happens when I am free from work.

Today at 7:20 p.m. after a long day at work I headed out to the conservatory and did 45 mins there at a good clip, but to be honest I felt tired the whole away and was very thirsty eventhough I drank a lot of water during the day. Laps were between 5:59 and 5:39 the last one. Completed the 45 mins there.

Decent evening run

Yesterday I took the day off. Yesteday was also my last day of the finances course and I felt a bit sad about it, I really liked the course and its a shame that it had to come to an end, the people there were good along with the excellent teachers. I hope to do another course soon.

Today after work at 7:20 p.m. headed out to the conservatory, headed out a little later than planned and had in mnd to do around 30-32 mins because I was not feeling very good, but when I had 20+ mins I decided to do my normal time of 45 mins. 6 laps there and completed the 45 mins. Laps were in 6:15,6:03,5:59,5:54,5:51,5:24. In the last lap with around 200s to 300s to go I chased a guy in a bike and that was the reason of the faster split, He won of course, but at least I sped up a bit, then completed the 45 mins and finished the run feeling pretty good.

Tight evening run

Today I ran in the evening as well, around 6:30 p.m. I headed out to the conservatory, too much people there compared to previous Sundays that I have been there, good thing though! You get to entertain your eyes while getting the run in:) I did 6 laps there and completed the 45 mins. 4 of 6 laps were with Jose and I felt really tight expect for the last 2 laps where I finally loosened up and felt normal again. Got there again in 7:32, so I think the muscles have recorded that pace in them. I am glad to have run today even when I did not feel good I braved that and get that done. The weather was a bit hot I think becasue I was sweating within the first 7 mins. We were running between 6:00-6:10 per lap.

Around 45 mins total for 7.5k. 5 runs this week, which is good, not great but acceptable. 8 days without coke already, I have eaten alot of fried chicken this weekend, but lest decrease one thing at a time:)

Good evening run

Today I headed out to the conservatory at 5:50 p.m. or so, got there in 7:32 feeling pretty easy, then did 5 laps there, 3 of them were with Brito,  a 42 min 10k runner, He was just running easy because He is racing another 10k tomorrow, so the pace was easy (6:04 per lap) and the conversation was good. The weather was great also, just rained before the run, not too much, just poured a bit. I felt really good. I have a week today soda free and I have felt really good during runs, as I said in my previous post I ll still drink it but once per week or so, need to burn a lot of fat and need to eat and drink healthier. Did 7.5k in 44:51, but completed the 45 mins. Last 2 laps were in 5:55 and 5:56 respectively. Great run and feeling lighter without all that soda in my stomach.

I am feeling pretty good lately, I hope that it transaltes to a leaner and faster me in April- May, I want to run sub 50 mins in Gatorade 10k held in that time thereabout.

Pst. In regards to the shin splint that I have experiencing I MUST say that it has gone completely so far, my legs feel fresh! and pain free thats great news, I ll have to keep and eye on it when I ramp up the frecuency and the miles again.

Back to the blog

Last Saturday I supposed to run in a 5k race, but when I went to register Friday night, I got told that it was sold out, I read the race poster 1000 times so that I made sure that it did not read any limited people in the race, but when I got there to register myself it was sold out, oh well!! I dont do races as a bandit  and was a bit pissed off because of that, Rested Saturday, Sunday and Monday because of low motivation. Last week I only ran 3 times per week.

On Tuesday I was back to it and did 45 mins in the conservatory(6 laps finishing there) with the last lap in 4:43, had had 3 days coke free so I felt lean and fit and could muster that a sub 5 las lap, I dont remember the last time that I ran that fast in training.

Wednesday was and off day because like on Monday I had the Finances course that I finish on Monday by the way.

Thursday was a repetiton from Tuesday, felt great but took it easy, being 5:35 the fastest lap, and was the last one, after the 45 mins, did around 4 x 100s fast.

Today I got the conservatory in 7:35 feeling good, then met Jose and We ran for 6 laps in 6:00,5:47,5:35,5:27,5:24,4:51, the last lap was the lap that I finally could break Jose and beated him, anyway I told that withing 2 months He will left me in the dust. completed the 45 mins and I did around 8 kms today. Felt good and I have been feeling pretty good without drinking cocacola, I want to decrease the consumption to once per week, will improve my diet as well. I dont know its in my mind, but I feel fitter and leaner without that stuff feeling my stomach with gases, during runs I feel really good and the splits and breathing show that. My friend Jose realized that when I surged that way. A lot of wotk to do , but I feel that I am getting there and I am heading the right direction.
